Bluefish to hold National Anthem auditions

The Bridgeport Bluefish announced that they are now accepting video submissions for their 2016 National Anthem auditions. There will also be an in-person audition held at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Saturday, April 16. More details will be announced at a later date.

“We are excited to see many of the talented individuals and groups from Southern Connecticut at our audition as well as in the video submissions,” said Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole. “These performers will be important in our goal to create an exciting atmosphere at Harbor Yard every game.”

Those interested in auditioning and performing at a Bluefish game during the 2016 season may submit footage of themselves along with their name (or group name and number of group members for anthems), phone number, email address, and age to to be considered.

In your video submission, you may sing the National Anthem, God Bless America, or any song of your choosing. To be considered, you must also include a Bridgeport Bluefish logo somewhere in your video.

During the in-person audition at the ballpark, all contestants will have the opportunity to sing the National Anthem once in front of a panel of judges. Performances will be held with a strict two-minute time limit. If you send in a video submission, you do not need to attend the in-person audition in April.

Soloists, groups, and instrumentalists are all invited to submit videos or audition. Some of the areas of focus for the judges will be on lyrical accuracy, voice quality, presentation, voice projection, time, and overall performance and talent.

Know the perfect participant? Want to see a friend or family member perform on-field at the ballpark this year? Forward them this information and encourage them to sign up. All fans also are invited to watch all of these performances and support their friends and family as they audition.
