At the library: Advocating for special needs services
The school special education process can be overwhelming for many families, especially those new to the system. On Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m., education attorney Amy Vatner will be at the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Avenue, to help families learn how to effectively advocate for their child.
Vatner is an education attorney with the Pellegrino Law Firm in New Haven and a clinical instructor at the Yale Child Study Center Developmental Disabilities Clinic.
She represents parents across Connecticut and helps them obtain appropriate services and placements in schools for their children, library officials said in announcing the program.
