Another winter storm warning issued: Expected Monday evening
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the southern and interior regions of the state from 6 p.m. tonight until 10 a.m. tomorrow.
According to the service, snow will move into the area late this afternoon into this evening, then mix with sleet and freezing rain overnight. The wintry mix will continue throughout Tuesday, eventually changing to rain and occasional snow showers. Total accumulations could be 3-6 inches of snow and an additional ice accumulation of between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch.
Winds are expected to be about 10-20 miles per hour with gusts of up to 30. Visibility could be as little as one-quarter mile.
Tonight’s low is predicted to be 30 degrees, and tomorrow’s high should be about 42 degrees. Low temperature tomorrow night is predicted to be in the mid to low 20s, which could result in icy conditions. Wednesday should be sunny with temperatures in the 40s.
