Amity swimmers cruise past Woodland-Beacon Falls
Victorious in each of the meet’s first 10 events, Amity’s undefeated boys swim team improved to 4-0 with last week’s 98-80 non-conference win over Woodland-Beacon Falls.
The meet featured double wins by Kyle Lemere and Eric Frohman. Lemere won both the 200-yard freestyle (1 minute, 57.42 seconds) and the 100 free (52.96). Frohman’s victories came in the 200-individual medley (2:14.04) and the 100 backstroke (1:00.6).
Frohman also teamed with Shea Middleton, Eric Holden, and Chris Woodington to open the meet with a winning time of 1:46.20 in the 200-medley relay.
Lemere anchored the Spartans’ first-place 200-free relay. Woodington, Rob Rosner, and Middleton joined him to post a 1:40.62.
Woodington took the 50 free in 24.71. Middleton’s 1:02.58 was tops in the 100 butterfly. Josh Lecker chipped in with a winning time of 5:27.28 in the 500 free.
Amity swam exhibition in the meet’s final two events. There was no score or name for the winner in the diving competition.
