Amity BOE employ new principal

When Amity Senior High School convenes this fall, Amity graduate Edward Goldstone of Hamden, will be at its helm.

Following a search, which took over a year, the Amity Board of Education unanimously voted Goldstone in this past week. He replaces Daniel Hatch, acting principal, who recently left Amity to take the Stratford High School principal position. Both were finalists for that position.

Most recently, Goldstone has served as the coordinator of the Alternative Education program for the Bridgeport Public School system. Prior, he served as the principal at Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport from 1986-2000.

He is a 1964 Amity alumni and member of its Sports Hall of Fame.

The new principal is a graduate of Yale University and received a doctorate in philosophy and education administration from the University of Connecticut in 1987.
