All OK at JFK School after earlier evacuation

All is back to normal at John F. Kennedy School, after an earlier evacuation due to a strange odor.

An odor had been reported before the start of the school day, according to a school announcement. As a precautionary measure the Fire Department and Southern CT Gas Company were called to evaluate the situation.

“A thorough investigation was made and no gas leak had been found, with no danger to any students or staff,” school officials said.

The building has re-opened and students are starting their school day, as normal.
