Milford’s Board of Aldermen adopted a resolution Monday night calling for a statewide ban of single-use plastic shopping bags.
“The critical need to better manage, reduce and optimistically to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bags from the marketplace in Connecticut is a motivating issue for many of us,” said Alderman Bryan Anderson. “In ideal circumstances, a Milford ordinance affords us local control with enforcement. Many of us favor this approach. As a community, however, we are not yet there. The good news is that the Milford food industry is at the table, and has been an integral partner as members of the Milford Recycling Task Force.”
