2016 FCIAC Fall Preview: Darien Blue Wave

Before the 2016 fall season begins, the HAN Network broadcasting crew is visiting all 17 FCIAC schools to interview sports captains and coaches. The tour started at Darien High School on Thursday morning, Aug. 26.

The Blue Wave dominated most of the 2015-16 athletic year in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference — and this year's team leaders are looking to keep Darien on top.

HAN Network Sports Director Frank Granito interviews captains from Darien's football, field hockey, volleyball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, and girls swimming and diving teams at the high school's stadium on Thursday. All eight of those videos can be seen in the player above.

Darien athletics will be featured in at least two September broadcasts: A rivalry field hockey game against New Canaan and football versus Greenwich. With as well as the Blue Wave typically play, you can expect to see more of them in October. We're waiting to release our October schedule so we can select the most competitive games leading up to the postseason. You can view the entire broadcast schedule here.

Along with being able to watch all HAN Network sports broadcasts live in streaming HD on your computer, phone, tablet and Web TV, this season you'll be able to watch games on the Vantage Sports Network from Frontier Communications (Ch. 600/1600).
