Police are looking for a man who tried to abduct a 19-year-old woman on the Boston Post Road Dec. 20.

Police on Wednesday met with a 19-year-old Whole Foods employee who said that at about 12:45 p.m., she was finishing her break and walking back to Whole Foods from Goodwill, at 1712 Boston Post Rd. She said she was crossing the vacant lot between the two businesses and a large white SUV, similar to a Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe, entered the lot from the Boston Post Rd.

She described the vehicle as being slightly dirty with road grime. The driver, an older white man with short gray hair, scruffy gray beard, medium build and wearing a white short-sleeve tee shirt, asked her for directions. She told police that she approached the vehicle to give the man directions and he reached out through his open driver’s side window and grabbed her arm.

She told police she struggled to break free and had to strike the man’s arm with her soda bottle. She then ran inside Whole Foods and alerted her manager.

Police said adjacent businesses were checked for any camera footage, but no images have been found yet.

If anyone has information they are asked to contact Detective Sergeant DelMonte 203-877-1465.
