GIRLS SOCCER: Austin, Clements clinch playoff berths

A recap of girls soccer action in Fort Bend ISD on Monday night.

Clements 2, Kempner 0

Tiffani Echeverria and Lizzy Denton each scored one goal as Clements (13-0-2) clinched a playoff berth for the 22nd season in a row.  Tory Diehl and Sevie Cole each had one assist. Kempner (10-3-2) remains in third place.

Austin 2, Travis 0

Ami Kapadia had one goal and one assist to help Austin (13-1-1) clinch a playoff berth and remain in a first-place tie with Clements. Eileen Saa also scored a goal, and Amanda Nelson had one assist. Travis (8-4-3) slipped into fifth place. Coach Melissa Fox said Lala Montilla and Callie Ballard played well for the Lady Tigers.

Elkins 6, Willowridge 0

Natalie Duenas scored two goals as Elkins (7-4-4) climbed into fourth place in the district standings. The Lady Knights are one point ahead of fifth-place Travis. Tatiana Rodriguez, Karly Brightwell, Katie Depuma and Rebecca Hernandez each scored one goal.

Dulles 5, Bush 1

Morgan Richard scored two goals, and Melissa Finley had two assists for Dulles. Makayla Mueller added one goal and one assist. Lena Rafeedie and Jenny Newman scored one goal apiece.
