Women accused in attempted Milford seafood theft
MILFORD — Two women are accused of trying to steal more than $1,000 in frozen seafood from a grocery store.
According to police, on Tuesday officers responded to the ShopRite at 936 Boston Post Road on the report of a shoplifting in progress.
Police said an investigation revealed that four suspects entered the store and attempted to steal more than $1,500 worth of frozen seafood.
Two female suspects were apprehended by Milford Police and Shop Rite Loss Prevention while two male suspects fled in a tan minivan with unknown plates.
The women were identified as Jessica Stanwicks, 38, and Lashay Paige, 38. They were arrested and charged with fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny.
Stanwicks was also charged with failure to appear as there was an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Stanwicks and Paige were brought to Milford Court for arraignment on Wednesday.
