MILFORD — A vehicle fire on Interstate 95 caused heavy delays on the highway’s southbound lanes for roughly half an hour Wednesday night.

The vehicle on fire was between Exit 41 and Exit 40, according to the state Department of Transportation. The right and center lanes were closed in the area of the fire as crews worked to extinguish the flames and tow the vehicle from the highway.

This was initially reported around 8:40 p.m. By 9:15 p.m., the site of the fire had been cleared and the lanes were reopened to traffic.
