Police: Milford man deposited $22,000 bad check
MILFORD — Police arrested a city man Sunday after he allegedly tried to deposit a fraudulent check for thousands of dollars in his bank account last year.
According to Milford police, officers were contact by the Bureau of Investigators from the Iberia, La., sherriff’s office in January, in regards to a fraud that took place Nov. 11, 2019.
Police said there was an investigation and detectives found that Christopher Kocak, 53, of Milford, allegedly attempted to deposit a fraudulent check for $22,460 in his People Bank account. A warrant was issued for Kocak’s arrest. He was charged with a criminal attempt at first degree larceny.
He was released on a promise to appear in Milford Court on March 3.
