Milford firefighters rescue person, dog from mud at Eisenhower Park
MILFORD — A person and their dog were pulled from the mud near the pond at Eisenhower Park Wednesday afternoon, according to fire officials.
The city’s 911 dispatch center received calls about a person stuck in the mud at the park’s pond around 12:35 p.m.
“Ghost the dog had decided to explore the pond area and became trapped and his owner attempted the initial rescue,” fire officials said.
People nearby heard the commotion and called 911.
Firefighters donned exposure suits and went into the pond while colleagues on shore pulled them back to safety using ropes.
The individual and their dog were freed from the mud without injuries, fire officials said.
