Extra police presence at Westover School following shooting

STAMFORD - A Stamford Police officer will be on patrol from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Westover Elementary School after a 19-year-old man was shot near the school on Friday.

Stamford Police Captain Sue Bretthauer said the Board of Education hired the officer to do extra duty for the day. She did not know if the officer will be on patrol any additional days this week.

Police were searching near the Westover Elementary School Friday afternoon to find one of two crime scenes.
