Jaylice Rosario transfers from Maloney, plays for Hillhouse Friday night

Two-time GameTimeCT First-Team All-State senior forward Jaylice Rosario has transferred out of Maloney and enrolled at Hillhouse.

Maloney coach John Vieira confirmed her departure from Maloney Friday morning and Rosario was in Hillhouse’s lineup Friday night, scoring 21 points in a 55-44 SCC win over Guilford.

Her addition to the Hillhouse roster comes with eight games remaining in the regular season. Hillhouse is currently 5-7 and trying to earn spots in the SCC and CIAC Class L tournaments.

This is Rosario’s second stint in the SCC after playing her first two seasons at Wilbur Cross, transferring to Maloney prior to her junior year.

CIAC rules allow a player to transfer and play if they move and change addresses.

Last season at Maloney, Rosario scored 503 points, averaging 21.9 a game to give her 969 career points. She averaged 11.5 rebounds, 3.3. steals and 2.2 assists a game, tallying 13 double-doubles.

She also led Maloney to its first CIAC tournament win since 1988, winning the most games at the school in over 30 years.

In addition to being a two-time GameTimeCT All-State first team selection, she was named twice named CHSCA All-State.
