Greenwich, Cheshire lead first volleyball poll for 2021

Greenwich, which has started the season with five straight wins, sits atop the first Connecticut high school girls volleyball coaches poll for 2021.

The Cardinals have won 17 straight matches dating back to the start of the 2020 season, and earned five first-place votes and 176 overall to take the top spot, just ahead of SCC power Cheshire. Cheshire also earned five first-place votes and had 168 total points.

Five teams earned first-place votes with No. 3 Darien, No. 4 Conard and No. 5 Weston each taking one.

The FCIAC and CCC each placed three teams in the top 10, while the SCC had two.
