Connecticut diners were treated to a slew of new restaurant openings in 2022, with noteworthy debuts in every corner of the state. Brand-new restaurant owners launched new concepts, established restaurateurs (including celebrities) rolled out new locations and national brands made inroads into the Nutmeg State for the first time.
2022 saw the introduction of new spots for global flavors, including Australian, American-Latino, northern Thai, Tibetan, Romanian and Israeli-Mexican fusion, and fun concepts like Korean corn dogs, loaded baked potatoes, pizza cones and year-round festival fare. Speaking of pizza, two of greater New Haven's top pizzerias expanded to new towns.
