The Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction team up for Mohegan Sun concert

90s alternative rock icons The Smashing Pumpkins ("1979," "Tonight, Tonight") and Jane's Addiction ("Jane Says," "Been Caught Stealing") are teaming up for the "Spirits on Fire" tour, which will stop at Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, Oct. 13.

The two groups will also be joined by pop metal vocalist Poppy. 

Since Billy Corgan partially-reformed the original lineup with James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin in 2018, this will be Smashing Pumpkins first full-scale tour in three years. For Jane's Addiction, this will be their first tour since 2016. In Connecticut, The Smashing Pumpkins will be playing their first show in the Nutmeg state since 2018 and Jane's Addiction's first in almost a decade, according to

According to a press release, The Smashing Pumpkins will release new music in 2022 as they begin touring again. 

Pre-sale tickets for select Spotify listeners will go on sale Thursday, May 12 while tickets for the general public will go on sale on Friday, May 13. 

Other recently announced concerts at Mohegan Sun Arena include Arcade Fire on Nov. 10, Straight No Chaser on Dec. 1 and Daryl Hall and John Oates on Oct. 9.
