The Irish Heritage Society of Milford will hold its 8th Annual Irish Festival on Sept. 20 and 21. The festival kicks-off on Friday, Sept. 20 (6 to 10 p.m.) with live musical performances by The Kerry Boys & The MacLean Avenue Band. There will be a variety of food samplings and an assortment of beverages. On Saturday, Sept. 21 (11 a.m. to 10 p.m.), the full festival comes alive with Irish music, dancing, culture, endless food choices, tasty libations and Irish wares for sale. There will be live musical performances by Bobby Morrill, The Highland Rovers Band, County Cavan, O'Hanleigh, Calley McGrane & the Exiles, and Colleen and the Boys. Irish dancing performances will include Kathleen Mulkerin's School of Irish Dancing and Lenihan School of Irish Dancing. Food offerings will include corned beef, shepherd's pie, fish & chips, roast beef, chili, hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork, bbq chicken sandwiches, and sausage & peppers. Snacks and beverages include fried dough, kettle corn, Italian ice, soda, Guinness, Harp and other beers, Twisted Tea, Smirnoff Ice, hard cider and wine. The Irish Marketplace offers Irish crafts and gifts, jewelry, books, artwork, and clothing for children and adults alike. Free children activities will be available between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Admission is $5 Friday and $10 Saturday for those 13 years and older. A two day pass is $13.
