Trick or Trot 5K is Oct. 31 in Milford

The 4th annual Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk fundraiser for the Beth-El Center will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 9 a.m. at Lisman Landing in Downtown Milford.

Sponsored by Harlow, Adams and Friedman, P.C. and Sikorsky Credit Union, the event brings together runners and walkers to support the hungry and homeless in the local area. Milford's own Miss Connecticut 2006, Heidi Voight from NBC CT, will be hosting and leading off the race.

Check in begins at 7:30 a.m., a new Kids Fun Run is at 8:45 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to register in advance for a reduced fee of $25. Race day registration will be $30 per person.

The Trick or Trot is a family friendly event; participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. Prizes will be awarded for best individual and team costumes, first overall male and female winners and top three by age group.

Over 200 people participated last year.

Post-race festivities will include breakfast and music performed by rock and blues band The Elwoods. To register for the race or for business sponsorship information, visit
