St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 283 Bridgeport Avenue, will present a dramatic one-hour performance, “They Called Me Lizzy...From Slavery to the White House,” on Saturday, Nov. 8, at noon, with lunch to follow.
Actress Stephanie Jackson becomes Elizabeth Keckly in this one-woman play on the life of a 19th century woman. Follow Lizzie's life from slavery, to professional dressmaker, and eventual friend and confidante to Mary Todd Lincoln, in the East Haddam Stage Company's production, written and directed by Kandie Carle.
