Sand sculpting contest is July 30 in Milford
The Milford Arts Council’s 39th Annual Sand Sculpture Competition is coming up.
The popular event is planned for Saturday, July 30, from noon to 5 p.m. at Walnut Beach.
There is no rain date.
Organizers welcome people to bring a picnic, beach blanket, pails and shovels, and create anything from huge lobsters to mermaids. Awards, trophies and ribbons will be given in various categories including clubs/friends, families and individuals.
All ages are welcome.
The annual event draws over 50 sand sculptors and hundreds of spectators each year. Registration is free and open to all.
The Milford Arts Council and Milford Bank sponsor the event, which is free. Parking for non-residents is $15.
Registration will be 11 a.m. to noon; sand building noon to 4 p.m., and judging at 4 p.m.
