Oyster Festival — Sunday, Aug. 17

Saturday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring 200 crafters and Main Street USA. Armory Square Big Toys features Tony’s Bikes & Sports BMX stunt show, Extreme Bungee, Rock Climbing Wall, National Guard Obstacle Course, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Armory Square Stage entertainment and more. The East Coast Shellfish Growers return with 20,000 oysters. Al DeCant emcees the Children's Stage at Fowler Pavilion. Amusement rides will be open all day behind the tennis courts. Fowler Field Main Stage headliner, Blues Traveler, takes the stage at 3:45 p.m. Opening for Blues Traveler starting at 11:30 a.m. will be Beth Patella, Mullet and Frank Viele. New this year at Lisman Landing is a Milford historical re-enactment “Meet the Founders” hosted by the Milford Historical Society. Schooner cruises are available aboard the “Soundwaters” for daytime and sunset cruises on Thursday, Aug 15, Friday, Aug 16 and Saturday, Aug 17. The Canoe & Kayak Race kicks off Saturday, Aug. 17 at 8:30 a.m., registration at 7:30 a.m. Both events are located at the Milford boat launch behind the Milford library.
