The 42nd Annual Milford Oyster Festival will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This year the festival will feature two headline bands, Blue Oyster Cult and The Marshall Tucker Band.

The Milford Oyster Festival offers the largest variety of oysters than any festival in the United States, event organizers said. There will be 35,000 oysters with 19 varieties from eight states on the East Coast. The new Craft Beer Garden at Lisman Landing will offer nine varieties of beer.

The Classic Car Show will now be on River Street, in front of Milford Photo.

The event also includes a Children’s Stage at Fowler Field, Armory Square Big Toys, 200 arts and crafts vendors on the green, amusement rides, schooner cruises, canoe and kayak races and more. Admission is free.

The annual kick off event, Oyster Eve, will take pace on Friday, Aug. 19, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Lisman Landing. Eaglemania will be the featured band. The new Craft Beer Garden, wine, oysters and other food will be available. There is a $5 cover charge at the door for Oyster Eve; under 14 is free. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
