Milford hosts walk for food allergy awareness

Milford will be the host site for the Connecticut FARE Walk for Food Allergies on Oct. 20.

Registration beings at 11 a.m., with the walk kicking off at noon.

Past walks have been held on the Milford Green and featured live local entertainment by The Elwoods and family entertainment by The Party People, Inc.

This year’s walk will be held at Walnut Beach Rotary Pavilion, and once again will feature the rocking sounds of The Elwoods.

The FARE Walk is a family-friendly event that takes place in more than 60 communities nationwide to fund food allergy education, advocacy, awareness, and research.

Local attorney Genevieve Salvatore organizes the local event.

The Connecticut Walk has had over 500 attendees and unites thousands of Americans seeking a safe and inclusive world for people with food allergies. This potentially life-threatening disease affects up to 15 million Americans, including 1 in 13 children – roughly two in every classroom.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available, enabling businesses to show their support for families who are living with food allergies from day to day. For more information go to
