Irish music — Special guest Jerry O’Sullivan (uilleann pipes) will join the P.V. O'Donnell Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann session for an evening of traditional Irish music on Thursday, Jan. 15, at St. Gabriel Parish Hall, 26 Broadway, Milford, 7:45 p.m. Admission is free. BYOB. Musicians, dancers, singers and guests are welcomed. In addition to his own recordings, Jerry has appeared on more than 90 albums and has performed or recorded with artists such as The Boston Pops, Paul Winter, James Galway, Dolly Parton, Eileen Ivers, and many others. Movie night — On Friday, Jan. 16 The United Church of Christ in Devon, 30 Ormond Street, (Devon Section) will show the movie “Beethoven.” After a doggone disaster of a movie shoot, the big-hearted pooch and his trainer, Eddie, are heading home when they get stranded in a small coastal village. When Beethoven befriends a local boy, he helps him find a pirate map to lost treasure and together they embark on an adventure that brings the whole town together. Released in October 2014. Rated: PG. Doors open at 6 p.m. Dinner is 6 to 7 p.m. and includes a hot dog, chips, dessert, beverage and unlimited fresh popped popcorn. Dinner is $6; ages 3-5 $3, under 3 is free. The movie follows and is free.
Saturday, January 17
Ziti dinner — The Knights of Columbus will present a ziti dinner Saturday, Jan. 17, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Sunday, January 18
Masonic breakfast — The Milford Masonic family will present a breakfast Sunday, Jan. 18, at the Masonic Hall, 59 Broad Street in Milford from 8 to 10:30 a.m. For a donation of $8, select fried or scrambled eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast, bacon or sausage. There will also be available potatoes, toast, orange juice, and coffee, or tea. Special prices for families with young children. For information call Bob Sherrick at 203-877-4977.
Bingo — St. Gabriel School has weekly bingo, Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 6 p.m. Full dinner available. Doors open at 4. Church gives away more than $3,000 in prizes each night, with two progressive pots and two winner-takes-all; free coffee.
