Crafters wanted

Saint Ann Parish is accepting applications for the juried craft show that is part of its Dec. 5 Christmas Fair. Once known as the Christmas Spectacular, this holiday event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Parish Center, 499 Naugatuck Avenue.

The main hall will be the setting for the juried craft show, part of this popular one-day Christmas fair that also features strolling carolers, an auction, a tag sale and a holiday bake shop. New this year is a space outside the main hall for non-juried vendors/direct sales consultants.

Fee for an 8’ exhibit space with two chairs is $35. Crafters must submit two photos of their work with their application.

Bible study

A non-denominational Bible study for women of all ages, and children from birth to grade 5 will  take place at Grace Baptist Church, 400 Burnt Plains Road, on Tuesdays from 9:15-11:15 a.m. Study will focus on the gospel of Matthew and starts Sept. 15.

Crafters sought

Platt Technical High School seeks crafters and food truck vendors for its annual Fall Festival and Car Cruise Fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 600 Orange Avenue in Milford. Vendor fee is $50, spaces are limited. All makes, models and car clubs welcome. Trophies will be awarded. Public admission free. All proceeds benefit student activities and scholarships.

Bottle drive planned

Jonathan Law Marching Band & Color Guard will hold a can and bottle drive on the third Saturday of every month, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Jonathan Law parking lot.

Families Anonymous meets

Families Anonymous is a free, self-help, 12-step support group for adults concerned about the drug, alcohol or related behavioral problems of a relative or friend. The group meets Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Hall, 283 Bridgeport Ave. Milford. No registration is required. Bereavement group

The St. Mary Bereavement Support Group begins another New Day 10 week program Thursdays beginning Sept. 24, 1-3 p.m. St. Mary’s Church Hall at 70 Gulf Street. Anyone coping with the loss of a loved one, whether recent or years ago, is welcome.
