The New England Guitar Society’s International Performer series concerts will continue with a concert by the guitar department at the Mannes School of Music in New York on Friday, May 8, at 8 p.m. at the Milford Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Avenue South.
Mannes, celebrating its 97th year as a classical music conservatory, was forerunner in establishing a performance degree in classical guitar.
Mannes was the first college in America to offer a guitar major (1956) and the first to appoint a guitar ensemble as ensemble-in-residence (1987).  Mannes guitar graduates have won top prizes in major international competitions, teach at America's leading universities and conservatories, record for major labels, and perform at the world's leading festivals and concert halls.
Tickets are $20, $15 for members and $18 for seniors.
