Doggie Fun Zone is one of the many highlights of K-9 Karnival, scheduled Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eisenhower Park in Milford.
The Trap Falls Kennel Club will host the family fun day focusing on responsible dog ownership.
“Doggie Fun Zone celebrates your dog’s inner athlete and is an attraction in and of itself, drawing thousands of people and their dogs everywhere it appears,” according to a press release about the event.
Dogs can be signed up to chase an elusive lure down straight-a-ways, around soft corners, and jump over or crawl under various scaled-down obstacles in an enclosed training yard.
Additionally, there will be demonstrations in obedience, agility, herding, tri-ball and police dog work.
Micro-chipping will be available at a discounted rate.
Over 65 breeds will be present at Meet the Breeds, along with rescue organizations, a pet photographer, food, vendors, raffles and contests like best dressed, best kisser and best trick.
All leashed dogs are welcome and attendees are asked to bring a shelter donation and receive a free raffle ticket.
Proceeds go to local animal shelters.
Organizers said that people can sign their dogs up for the various competitions at the event, not ahead of time.
