The Milford Arts Council will welcome Juke Joint Jazz to the stage on Friday, May 30 at 8 p.m.
Juke Joint Jazz, based in Western Massachusetts, plays its own hard-driving and melodic arrangements of the classic jazz repertoire. Featuring influences ranging from Miles Davis to the Grateful Dead, from Monk to Funk, the band plays an eclectic mix of works from an international cast of composers.
Tickets are $25 ($20 MFAC members) and may be purchased online at milfordarts.org or by calling 203-878-6647.
As a special addition, the art council will showcase an exhibit by artist Barbara Levine for the month of May.
Her art includes watercolors, pastel and tapestry, and it evokes the abstract naturalist Georgia O'Keefe.
The doors will open at 7 p.m. for a meet and greet with the band and artist Barbara Levine.
