The Devon Rotary Club will hold its 27th Annual Milford Oktoberfest, sponsored by Milford Bank, on Saturday, Sept. 26 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Rotary Pavilion at Fowler Field behind the Milford Public Library.
The event is a fundraiser for the Devon Rotary Club. Proceeds benefit the organization’s charitable trust foundation that distributes more than $25,000 in annual scholarships to local Milford students.
This year’s Biergarten will feature 14 Oktoberfest and craft beers on tap. The Bier Garten and servers are sponsored and coordinated by The Orange Ale House. There will also be a special photo opportunity with the Devon Rotary's own version of the famed St. Pauli girls, and Oktoberfest merchandise such as mugs, German hats and t-shirts available for purchase.
Visitors will have a chance to win one of three raffle prizes, including a big screen LCD, a home entertainment starter package, and a suite of Apple products.
This year’s entertainment lineup features German Dancers, an Oom-Pah Band, and local favorites Rum Runners and Total Hacks. Bands will be playing all day under the Rotary Pavilion. There will also be a kid’s corner area with lots of family oriented activities.
Other activities include a bratwurst eating contest for charity. Teams of three will compete for their favorite local charity. The winner takes all with proceeds benefiting the winner’s choice of charity. Spots are still open: To sign up contact Vincent Lambiase at Beachwood Florist in Milford 203-878-3717.
