PHOENIX (AP) _ Viad Corp. (VVI) on Tuesday reported a loss of $43.2 million in its first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Phoenix-based company said it had a loss of $2.21. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.92 per share.

The trade show company posted revenue of $28.9 million in the period.

Viad shares have increased 17% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $42.18, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
