‘Christmas Cookies! The Musical’ hits stage in December

Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc., a non profit professional theatre company for family audiences, will debut its new holiday production, “Christmas Cookies! The Musical,” on Friday, December 11, 7:30pm, at the Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford.

“Christmas Cookies! The Musical!” is the heartwarming story of an old-fashioned bakery facing hard times. A little girl’s letter to Santa brings about holiday magic as a trio of gingerbread girls come to life, singing their way to the bakery’s success and the merriest Christmas ever. The new musical is written by Bert Bernardi and Justin Rugg. “It’s a great big holiday show, chock full of music and cheer,” said Bernardi. “Our singing ‘girl group’ cookies look delicious and sound incredible,” he added.

The new holiday musical features one of Pantochino’s largest casts. Maria Berte plays Mrs. Baker and the Cookies are played by Mary Mannix, Shelley Marsh Poggio and Phoebe Wright.

Featured in the cast are Jimmy Johansmeyer, Dale Allen, Rugg, Cassie Gerace, Andrea Pane, Anya Caravella, Hazel Foley, Morgan Taylor, Thea Ryan, Dani Corrigan, Jaxon Beirne, Olivia Foley, Justin Cavone, and Hannah Kupson. “Christmas Cookies” features sets by Von Del Mar, lighting by Jeff Carr, costumes by Johansmeyer, and sound by Nathaniel Dobas. The production stage manager is Jeff Therkelsen.

New this season, Pantochino is offering “Party Performances” at it’s Saturday 2 p.m. shows only. For these performances, audiences will be seated at tables and chairs and are invited to bring their own food and drink to be enjoyed during the show. For “Christmas Cookies,” these party shows will take place on December 12 and 19.

“Christmas Cookies! The Musical!” will be performed December 11- 27 with shows Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 5:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 online, or $20. at the door. Advance tickets are suggested. The Milford Center for the Arts is located at 40 Railroad Avenue South on the eastbound side of the Metro-North tracks.
