Sanford-Bristol hearing scheduled for Nov. 6

The Milford Preservation Trust was granted the right to have the Sanford-Bristol House inspected during a brief court hearing at Derby Superior Court on Monday.

Attorney Philip Walker, representing the Milford Preservation Trust, filed a complaint Oct. 9 in Milford Superior Court against property owners William and Gwendolyn Farrell, seeking an injunction that would prevent the home’s demolition.

The planned demolition of the house, located at 111-113 North Street, has been met with resistance in the months since the Farrells sought permission to knock it down.

The Milford Preservation Trust will be allowed to hire an engineer who is familiar with post-and-beam structure to examine the house.

The engineer’s findings will be submitted to the court at a hearing Wednesday, Nov. 6.
