Police dog helps find man hiding in garage

An East Haven man was arrested after allegedly being caught hiding in a garage belonging to someone who has a court protective order against him.

Police said that on June 13, they responded to an Ardmore Road residence on the report of an unwanted man. Investigation showed that Thomas Chase, 32, of East Haven, had gone to the residence in violation of a full no-contact protective order and left prior to police arriving.

Several hours later the department received another call that Chase was back at the residence, this time hiding in the garage.

Officers arrived and called for Chase to come out. When Chase did not respond a police K-9 went into the garage and found Chase. Chase is accused of violating a full no-contact protective order by being at the residence.

His bond was set at $12,500, and he was scheduled for court later in the day.
