Foran defeats Sheehan (football)

The Foran High football team used a punishing ground game to earn a 26-7 SCC Division II East win over Sheehan High in Wallingford on Friday night.

Nico DeRosa rushed for 168 yards and Jake Kasuba gained 120 yards, as coach Jeff Bevino’s Lions improved to 1-2.

Sheehan (1-2) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter before DeRosa scored on a 41-yard jaunt to make it 7-6.

Zach White returned the third-quarter kickoff 80 yards to put Foran in front. He added the two-point conversion for a 14-7 advantage.

DeRosa tacked on a three-yard run in the third quarter.

Kasuba, who completed 11-of-17 passes for 140 yards, broke off a long run deep into Sheehan territory to set up Andrew Melendez’ five-yard score.
