Food bank low on food

The Milford Food Bank is in need of donations.

Al Salamanca, food bank manager, said the shelves are unusually low and requested that people consider dropping off food items or making a donation to the food bank.

The Milford Food Bank is located at the Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive. The food bank is typically stocked with non-perishable food items such as pastas, rice, tuna fish, canned meats, canned stews, peanut butter and jelly, chunky soups, non-fat dry or canned milk, fruit juice, canned fruit and canned vegetables and assorted cereals.

The food bank is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The goods stored there are shared with anyone who is in need.
