Class M swim: Lauralton second, Foran fifth, Law 14th

Lauralton Hall placed second and Foran High finished fifth at the Class M girls swimming championships in Middletown on Nov. 15.

Brookfield High (688) edged coach Fran Pfeiffer Crusaders (646.5) for the team title.

Coach Kristin Skuches’ Foran team scored a 424.

Coach Molly Rosner’s Jonathan Law squad was 14th (121).

Katherine Begg earned individual titles in the 200 freestyle (1:55.97) and the 100 freestyle (5:07.33) for Lauralton. Brenna McLaughlin won the 500 freestyle (5:07.53) and Caroline Sargent the 100 backstroke (1:00.60).

Lauralton’s McLaughlin, Begg, Isabella Preneta and Madyson Barnick were first in the 200 freestyle relay. McLaughlin, Sargent, Begg and Roty Woods won the 400 freestyle relay.

Foran’s Jordan MacDonald was best in the 100 butterfly (58.42). Sarah Fitzgerald placed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.09).

The Lions’ MacDonald, Fitzgerald, Emily Sportini and Ava Corsi took states in the 200 medley relay.

For the Law Eagles, Hannah Savoie placed ninth in the 200 freestyle (2:03.56). Lillian Baldieri, Bella Carroll, Brooke Nabors and Savoie took tenth in the 200 freestyle relay (1:50.64).
