Plenty planned for Woodmont Day Saturday

A previous year's Woodmont Day Parade had a storybook theme, and there were a number of floats designed to recall some favorite children's stories. This year's theme is 'It's a Jolly Holiday in Woodmont'. The parade starts at 9:30 a.m.

The 54th Annual Woodmont Day will be held at Trubee Doolittle Park on Saturday, July 30. It’s a great way to salute Woodmont history and have fun at the beach.

The day’s activities will kick off with a 5K run around scenic Woodmont. The run starts at 8:15 a.m.

People can sign up for the run at  https://runsignup.com/Race/CT/Milford/Woodmont5K%20.

The run costs $20 and includes a t-shirt, timed run, food and giveaways.

Next up is a themed parade called “It’s a Jolly Holiday in Woodmont,” where residents can show their neighborhood spirit by dressing or creating a float for their favorite holiday. The parade starts at 9:30 a.m., with prizes for kids, families, floats and pets. There are also children’s games, face painting, food, a talent show, a pie-eating contest and more.
