No ID yet on woman killed by train in Milford Friday

UPDATE: A person was hit and killed by a train in Milford Friday.

Metro North Spokeswoman Nancy Gamerman said the identity of the person has not been released yet, pending notification to family, but she said the person was a woman, age 45.

Milford firefighters responded to a report of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a train on the northbound side of the railroad tracks, in the area of Gulf Street and Buckingham Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. Friday.

Approximately 300 passengers were on the train at the time of the incident. No injuries to train passengers or staff were reported, fire officials said.

Metro North authorities and Milford police are investigating the incident. Gamerman could not say much, only that the incident is still under investigation.
