Milford college students in the news

The Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs at Ithaca College awarded Camden Weber, a senior communication, management and design major in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, the Peggy Ryan Williams Award for Academic and Community Leadership.

The award recognizes students who excel academically, perform service to the college community and nation, and represent an exemplary level of accomplishment.

With Keene State College’s Community Service Department, Wine to Water and Filter pure, Jenna Saymon of Milford, majoring in biology, participated in a community service trip to the Dominican Republic.

Saymon worked to produce and distribute ceramic water filters that are affordable and 99.9% effective for families in need. The team also visited local communities and determined the filters’ impact on health and wellness, and where new filters would be most needed.

Hannah Konicki of Milford was named to the Emmanuel College dean’s list for the Fall 2014 semester.

Amanda Smith of Milford has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester at Salve Regina University. Smith is a junior majoring in nursing.

Chelsea Utz of Milford has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester at Salve Regina University. Utz is a freshman majoring in nursing.

Fairfield University has announced that the following local residents have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester:

Kristen Feige, Julia Reno, Alexander Hutcheon, Jaime Kader, Casey Oliver, Drew Arciuolo, Christopher Gyger, Lydia Dupree, Tavia Mastrianni, Mariam Boutros, Mariah Kasparek.

Joan Margolis, a political science major from Milford, has earned the dean’s award for academic excellence at Colgate University for the Fall 2014 semester.

Anika Hall of Milford was named to the dean’s list of Emory College of Arts and Sciences, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, for the 2014 fall semester.

Noah Johnson has been named a presidential scholar at Connecticut College after finishing the 2014 fall semester on the dean’s list with high honors. He has also been named a Floor Governor for the 2015-16 school year and will continue to be a member of the Camel’s Ultimate Frisbee Team.

Noah is a graduate of Foran High School.

Gabrielle Hartley of Milford, a student at the University of New Haven, won second place in scholarship at the ACJA Conference. She also placed in several categories at the American Criminal Justice Association annunal conference.

Lindsey Seyfried of Milford was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Seyfried is pursuing a degree in communication disorders at James Madison University.
