Lawmen weigh in for postseason

The Jonathan Law wrestling team will take part in the Southern Connecticut Conference Championships at Shelton High on Saturday with wrestling getting under way at 9 a.m.
Coach Matt Schoonmaker’s Lawmen took an 18-13 record into their last dual meet with Shelton High on Wednesday night.
Law recorded its 500th program win with a victory over Stratford earlier this year.
Samantha Rebentisch, Ryan Bannon, Anthony Volturno and James Marron are team captains.
Rebentisch, a 106-pounder, is the winningest female wrestler in school history with 69 wins
Bannon, at 132 pounds, has 124 career wins, which is top ten in program history.
Volturno is 26-15 on the season at 160 pounds.
Marron set a state record for quickest pin at 220 pounds with a seven-second pin on Saturday.
Leading Law in the lower weights will be Sam Rebentisch (24-18, 5-3 SCC), sophomore Tim Rebentisch (21-16, 2-5 SCC) at 113, junior Phil Manes (11-10, 5-1 SCC) at 120 and sophomore Sean Berg (18-17, 3-5 SCC) at 126.
Bannon (40-2, 8-0 SCC), junior Mark Bluemer (13-21, 3-5 SCC) at 138), freshman Nick Catandella (7-14, 1-4 SCC) at 145 and sophomore Max German (20-9, 6-2 SCC) at 152 will lead the middle weights.
Volturno will be followed by either Chris Krouch (7-9) or Kurt Holden (11-22) at 170, Kyle Frawley (20-18, 5-4 SCC) at 182, Phil Centore (16-11, 2-5 SCC) at 195, Marron (32-9, 8-2 SCC) and Josh Galarza (10-15, 2-4 SCC) at heavyweight.
Law defeated Amity of Woodbridge, 46-25, in an SCC wrestling match in Milford on Jan. 30.
Holden (in 2:37 at 170 pounds), Bannon (1:21 at 132) and German (4:48 at 152) scored pins for the Lawmen.
Sam Rebentisch (6-2 decision at 106), Manes (13-5 major decision at 120) and Bluemer (9-6) decision at 138) all posted wins on the mat.
Krouch (182), Frawley (195) and Marron (heavyweight) were awarded wins by forfeit.
