Ryan Giambra hit a grand slam home run for Milford.

The Milford Junior Major League Golden Thunder 8U baseball team defeated South Meriden Gold in Beth-Wood Tournament play on Monday, July 7.
Luis Lozada had a leadoff triple and was brought home by Alex Rodriguez for an early lead.
Milford wasn’t done, as it sent nine batters to the plate and Ryan Giambra capped the six-run inning with a grand slam home run to left-center field.
Joining the hit parade and excelling for the locals were Jackson Gryzwacz, Justin Gentallan, Steven Witteman, Matthew Galligan, Matthew Stevens, William LeCuyer, Andre Peterson and Jack Thomas.
The defense, which held South Meriden scoreless in, was led by Ben Britto and Cal Wrigley.
South Meriden Blue visits Bernard Field on Thursday, July 10, at 6 p.m.
