Steven Russell Bump Sr.
Steven Russell Bump Sr., 69, a longtime Milford resident, husband of Donna Verespey Bump, died Feb. 8, at Milford Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Oct. 8, 1942 in Oneonta, N.Y., he was the son of the late Sheldon and Louise Bump of Otego, N.Y.
Mr. Bump served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964, serving time in Korea; he was honorably discharged. He was a machine operator for Bendix in Sidney, N.Y. and later worked for Bic Corporation in Milford where he retired in 2008.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Steven Bump Jr. of Milford; daughter, Lisa Meschutt of Oneonta, N.Y.; a sister, Elizabeth Bettiol and her husband, Eugene of Oneonta, N.Y.; and four grandchildren, Alexander and Jonathan Meschutt and Emily and Meredith Bump.
He was predeceased by brothers, Sheldon Bump Jr. and Robert Bump; and sisters, Phyllis Koepke and Judy Bump.
Visiting hours are Saturday, Feb. 11, 1-3 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 3, Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford.
