Margaret “Maggie” Wright

Margaret “Maggie” Wright, 86, of Gainesville, Fla., formerly of Shelton and Milford, Conn., wife of William M. Wright for 65 years, died Feb. 4, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 27, 1925 in Milford, Conn. to John Sidoti and Josephine Re.

Maggie had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing music from the ’40s, her family said. She met her husband William on a blind date at a dance and they continued to enjoy music and dancing all their lives. She also loved Christian music and was a faithful woman of God and never wavered from her faith throughout her recent illness.

Mrs. Wright and her husband raised their family in Milford, Conn. After her children were grown, she went to work at Alexander’s Department Store, where she retired after 20 years. She and her husband moved to Gainesville, Fla. from Shelton, Conn. 12 years ago.

Most of all, she was the happiest when spending precious time with her family, her family said. Maggie was a loving and faithful wife and mother.

Besides her husband, survivors include her daughters, Judi Donovan of Gainesville, Fla., Janice (Chuck) Carroll of Londonderry, N.H. and Rebecca (Ed) Leavy of East Haven; son, William M. (Amy) Wright, II of Chesapeake, Va.; brothers, John Sidoti of Interlachen, Fla. and Anthony Sidoti of New York City, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews;

Also, 12 grandchildren, Michael (Sheila) Donovan, Jennifer (Dan) Eastman, Scott Carroll, Michelle Donovan, Kristin Donovan, Lisa (Duston) Blanchette, Shannon (Eric) Charette, Sherrianne (John) Wagner, Katie (Victor) Ortiz, Zachary Leavy, Joshua Wright and Jeremiah Wright; and 13 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Amanda, Adam, Shawn, Racquelle, David Michael, Hunter, Samuel, Grace, Victor Anthony, William G., William J. and Lucas.

She was predeceased by babies, James and Joann; a brother, Joseph; and sisters, Grace, Jennie and Josephine.

Services are Saturday, Feb. 11, 10 a.m., in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St., Gainesville/Newberry, Fla. Burial follows in Newberry Cemetery. Visiting hours, Friday, Feb. 10, 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
