Charlie Miller

Charlie Miller, 78, of Milford, formerly of Monroe, husband of Dorothy (Nilsen) Miller, died Jan. 11 in Milford.

 

Son of the late William A. and Mary McCabe Miller, he was born March 17, 1933 in Norwalk.

Mr. Miller was a U.S. Navy veteran of Korea, serving in the Atlantic Ocean aboard the carrier U. S. S. Randolph, CVA-15. Upon returning, he operated Town Line Chevron on the Post Road near I-95 exit 13, from the late 1950s into the 1970s.

Mr. Miller moved from Norwalk in the 1970s to Monroe where he was active in the Exchange Club and was a member of Washington Masonic Lodge, No. 19. In 1985 he moved again to Milford and was a realtor with V. P. Realty and Elmer Craw Real Estate.

Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Charles Miller Jr. and his wife, Joanne of Auburn, Mass.; a daughter, Victoria DeNicolo of Branford; two stepsons, Kenneth Nilsen and his wife, Jennifer of Hoboken, N.J., and Edward Nilsen and his wife, Lynn of Milford; son-in-law, Peter DeNicolo of East Haven; one brother, John T. Miller of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Ann Martineau of Wilton, Patricia Lopez, of Minnesota, and Carole Huse, of Norwalk; grandchildren, Daniel and Timothy Miller, Gina DeNicolo, Kirsten and Jack Nilsen, Eric and Edward Doherty; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings, William J. and James J. Miller, Marjorie Denke, Grace Caruso and Jean Mascia.

Burial is Saturday, March 17, 11 a.m., in the family plot in St. Johns Cemetery. Collins Funeral Home, Norwalk, handled arrangements.
