Nicholas “Big Nick” J. Cupole, III

Nicholas “Big Nick” J. Cupole, III, 53, of Milford, died Jan. 27, at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Son of Barbara Cupole and the late Nicholas J. Cupole Jr., he was born June 7, 1958 in Bridgeport.

Mr. Cupole was the former owner of the Star Café, and everyone would find him in his big steel chair, always ready with a joke or a story to tell, his family said. He had a generous heart and a great sense of humor, and the adventures in the VW bus will not be forgotten. He will be remembered for his kindness, love and caring for his friends and family.

Besides his mother, he is survived by seven siblings, Ronna Hiltz of Ansonia, Theresa “Teri” Bickford and her husband, James of Milford, Thomas Cupole of Bloomfield, Stephen Cupole and his wife, Barbara LeBlanc of Shelton, Richard Cupole and his wife, Kristen of Val Rico, Florida, James Cupole and his wife, Margo of Milford and Mary Jayne Cupole of Milford;

Also, 20 nieces and nephews, KJ, Elizabeth, Amy, Luis, Jamie, Holly, Chris, Jason, Barbara, Emma, Lisa, Mark, Kristal, Stephen, Vicky, Brian, Katelyn, Rachel, Hope and Hailey; and four great nieces and nephews, Victoria, Luke, Jacub and Leyah.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Jan. 31, 4-7 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7, at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford. Burial is private.
