Robert S. Weaver Sr.

Robert S. Weaver Sr., 85, of Milford, formerly of Stratford, husband of the late Dorothy Fedorko Weaver for 60 years, died Jan. 16, in Bridgeport Hospital.

Born in Bridgeport to the late William P. and Lillian (Hughes) Weaver he was a lifelong Stratford resident before moving to Milford three years ago.

Mr. Weaver was U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 9460. He was an avid dancer and fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Most of all, Bob enjoyed attending his beloved grandchildren’s sporting events and concerts, his family said. Bob met his beloved late wife of sixty years, Dorothy while dancing at the Ritz Ball Room, and after his retirement, the two of them enjoyed taking rides to the Seawall in Lordship. He was retired from the Charter Arms Company.

Survivors include his children, Robert Weaver Jr and his wife, Diane, of Oxford, Catherine Talone, of Milford and Cynthia Maltais, of Milford; his grandchildren, Julie Moore and her husband Jeremy, Matthew Talone, Jennifer Weaver, Kyle Weaver, Zachary Maltais and Luke Maltais; great-granddaughter, Emily Catherine Moore; his brother, best friend and the best man at his wedding, Roy Weaver and his wife, Geraldine, of Ansonia; two sisters-in-law, Helen and Mildred Fedorko; and several nieces and nephews.

He also was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth; and sisters, June, Dorothy and Barbara.

Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, handled arrangements. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery, Monroe.
