The Boys & Girls Village Board of Directors has named Steven Kant M.D. as the agency's acting chief executive officer.
Dr. Kant will retain all of his duties as chief medical officer while serving as the acting CEO. He has been a leader within Boys & Girls Village for nearly 20 years and was named the agency's Chief Medical Officer in 1998.
During his tenure, Kant has led the agency in providing more clinically based services, complementing the agency's more traditional role as a social service and educational service provider. As a result, Boys & Girls Village has greatly expanded and elevated their continuum of services for children and families with significant behavioral and emotional needs.
Carol Smith Harker, chair of the Board of Directors, announced Kant's appointment and voiced her appreciation to John Cocciolone, the prior CEO, for his contributions to the agency.
